For most of us, its the last few weeks of the year – except for those that start their fiscal year in February (weirdos). The year ended with some big news and notable “retirements.”

Mike Jeffries of Abercrombie announced his immediate retirement after his “no-logo” strategy failed to lift sales – WSJ

At Gucci both Frida Giannini (Creative Director) and Patrizio di Marco (CEO) announced their “retirements” – Business of Fashion. The luxury retail market faces challenging times, and, let’s face it, they weren’t war-time executives

Walgreens announced Greg Wasson’s retirement for him. Those Walgreens cards are really getting creepy good. Crains

Update (12/17/2014): Dov Charney is out at American Apparel LA Times

In a widely expected move, style.com will shut down its print magazine – Fashionista Paper magazine has no plans to shutter its website.
